They can also be placed in front of a window or behind a sofa or love seat, hence the name "sofa" table. Console tables typically feature drawers, cabinets or stylish shelves for displaying accessories. An example of a popular and stylish console table design is the demilune, which is semi-circular or crescent shaped with a flat back side. The demilune table is designed to be pushed up against a wall and usually has 3 or 4 legs. It is perfect for smaller spaces because its frame is slightly more compact. Demilunes come in an array of styles, from the most formal and ornate to simple and casual.
