Another alternative you have is to get a number of little square tables that match each other yet aren't specifically the same size. There are sets of what are called piling tables. In this instance, each table is one size smaller or bigger than the last. When you do not need them all, they can stack in addition to one another using up much less overall space in your home. When you do need them, you can unstack them, or unnest them, and placed them to work anywhere you need in your house.
