To give the illusion of no supports, drifting shelves are protected on the wall using cleats. These are strips of wood nearly the size of the rack that are pierced into the wall studs as though the racks fit perfectly over them. To make cleats, you'll need to gauge for cleat density specifically. Measure the inside length of the door, from leading to bottom, along with the precise width. Cut a 2- x 4-inch item of timber at the exact same size as the cleat. Then fine-tune the other measurements for elevation.
